Michael B. Gluth, MD
Dr. Gluth is a full-time faculty member and Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
College of Medicine and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock . He regularly consults
on an outreach basis as a subspecialist for patients with ear and skull base disorders on site at the Ear, Nose, & Throat Center of the Ozarks.
A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Gluth received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Thereafter, he completed
an internship in general surgery and residency in otolaryngology-head & neck surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. During residency, additional
focused time was spent studying diseases affecting the ear (otopathology) in Boston at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary and in Minneapolis at the
University of Minnesota. Later, he completed fellowship training in advanced ear & skull base surgery at the Ear Science Institute Australia and University
of Western Australia under the direction of renowned ear surgeon Professor Marcus Atlas. With colleagues at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Gluth has
co-authored a textbook on communication and aging; he has also published several journal articles and book chapters dealing with various topics in
otolaryngology-head & neck surgery. With a practice focused exclusively on conditions affecting the ear and skull base, Dr. Gluth performed the
first cochlear implant surgery in northwest Arkansas. He is on staff at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale & Bentonville as well as Washington
Regional Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
